Yes, tax time is approaching! And yes, the AARP will again be preparing taxes free of charge for seniors and low-income individuals. When the Tax Program opens, as in years past, you will be directed to an online form to fill out to request an appointment for tax preparation. Once the preparer receives your form, they will call you to set up your appointment. NO APPOINTMENTS WILL BE MADE OVER THE PHONE NOR WILL THEY BE MADE VIA WALK-IN TO THE UNITED WAY OFFICE. Once again, HFM Investment Advisors is organizing their 2024 Annual Coat Drive to provide a coat to every man, woman and child in need this season. This drive will run from November 5th, 2024 through January 31st, 2025, and accepts new and gently used coats. Donating is simple with their several drop-off locations, with more sites to be added throughout the season. United Way of Gloucester County is one of these drop-off locations! The Born Learning Trail is an interactive trail designed to boost school readiness in preschool children through a series of 10 engaging activities, resulting in increased language, reading and problem-solving skills. This initiative helps parents, caregivers, and communities create quality engagement opportunities when visiting local parks and playgrounds. This video collection helps young readers have new and interesting people to read with from different backgrounds and walks of life. It also assures that they are safe whether in the classroom or at home. Promoting lifelong literacy is important to the United Way of Gloucester County and this is a really special way for us to reach families, after school programs, classrooms, and beyond.
