A Program to Develop Well-Informed,
Next-Generation Leaders
The United Way of Gloucester County (UWGC), the County of Gloucester, and Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) held its inaugural class of Lead Gloucester County (Lead GC) on Friday, September 6th. This comprehensive certificate course aims to develop a pool of well-informed, skilled and resourceful individuals, positioned to serve as business and community leaders in Gloucester County.
The inaugural class is comprised of 20 diverse next-generation leaders representing corporate, business, government, and nonprofits, and includes Frank Allison of TD Bank, Max Armstrong of RCSJ, Mariama Balde of Columbia Bank, Linsey Camire of the Gloucester County Chamber, Isaiah Casey-Hammond of Loving Our Cities, Kimberly D’Auria of Acenda Integrated Health, Cadie DiGiambattista of Delaware River Partners, Brianna Donahue of Inspira Health, Danielle Fox of Glassboro Child Development Centers, Quandell Iglesia of National Integrity Title Agency, Iris Mendez of RCSJ, Jasmine Moore of The Victory Group, Rachael Mueller of PBF Energy, Sandra Perls of Quality Care Services, Inc., Antonio Pisano of the Gloucester County Chamber, Mary Schultes of Rowan University, Christina Teel of South Jersey Gas, Megan Varrell of the Borough of Glassboro, Casey Verling of RCSJ, and Kimberly Villegas of Camden County College.
Coordinated and facilitated by UWGC Executive Director Michael Gower, UWGC Board Members Joanne Connor and Claire Riggs, and RCSJ Associate Vice President Candice Racite, this inaugural program is sponsored by RCSJ, Acenda Integrated Health, Columbia Bank, Jefferson Health New Jersey and PBF Energy.
“Lead GC exists to educate, empower, engage and enhance the individual and collective capabilities of our next-generation leaders to advance their careers and to foster progress and prosperity in our county,” shared Michael Gower, Executive Director of United Way of Gloucester County. “With many of our businesses, corporations, and nonprofit organizations facing succession challenges, this program seeks to create well-informed and empathetic leaders who are ready to fill open roles. Through transformative leadership experiences and a structured overview of the issues and opportunities facing Gloucester County, Lead GC enhances the industry and position-specific training employers may currently offer,” he added.
About Lead GC:
Lead Gloucester County (Lead GC) is a collaboration of the United Way of Gloucester County, Rowan College of South Jersey and the County of Gloucester. Lead GC spans nine months, with sessions held from September to May on the first Friday of each month. Each class consists of diverse participants dedicated to learning, engaging and growing as individuals and as a collective. In addition to broadening their leadership skills and knowledge of the County where they work and/or reside, upon completion, each participant will receive a Nonprofit Governance Board certificate to prepare them to serve on local nonprofits in volunteer leadership capacities.
