The holidays are approaching, and you know what that means! Time to start gathering and donating toys to support the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots campaign as they endeavor to fulfill every needy child’s wish for a new toy this holiday season. 2024 COLLECTION DRIVE FACT SHEET
WHO: United Way of Gloucester County and Gloucester County Board of Commissioners – Human Service Advisory Council
WHEN: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 to Friday, December 13, 2024 (anytime within this period, or earlier)
HOW: Sponsor a toy collection drive at your workplace. Encourage employees to contribute a new, unwrapped toy during the period you select for collection. Donations can be dropped off at the Toys for Tots collection site, or there is a volunteer who can pick up the items. Please call the building prior to drop-off to ensure that there are volunteers ready to collect your items! If you need a pick-up, please notify us as soon as possible with your requested date.
RECOMMENDED DONATIONS: New, unwrapped toys, books, educational toys, infant toys, sports equipment, MP3 players, watches, rolled blankets, blow dryers, etc. There is usually a shortage of items for children between infancy to age 3 and age 10 & older.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Complete the Sign-Up Form and email Michael Gower at the United Way of Gloucester County (856-845-4303 x 140 for questions).
HOW DONATIONS ARE DISTRIBUTED: Toys for Tots receives requests from the Board of Social Services, churches, human service agencies, municipalities, and families.
HOW TO RECOMMEND A FAMILY: Complete a request form at the Toys for Tots website: click on “request a toy”, state: NJ, location: Gloucester. Families will be required to show proof of residency and birth certificates for all children that toys are requested for and will be contacted when to pick up the toys. NO PHONE REQUESTS PLEASE.
OTHER INFORMATION: Limited supplies of cardboard collecting bins are available at United Way (454 Crown Point Road, Thorofare, NJ 08086) for your organization to pick up. Toys for Tots also welcome checks made payable to “Marine Toys for Tots Foundation” or donations can be made to the United Way of Gloucester County made payable to “United Way of Gloucester County” for this program.
WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR COLLECTION: You can bring the items to the Toys for Tots collection site at 210 County House Road, Shady Lane Complex, Building E, Clarksboro, 08020, from 9 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. You can also email wenonah.nj@toysfortots.org to arrange for the items to be picked up or call their office, 856-224-8061 or 8063, fax 8064. Collection Bin Pick-Ups will be arranged 12/1/2024 through 12/13/2024.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE AT THE COLLECTION SITE BY FRIDAY, 12/13/2024.
