In 2023, AARP Tax Aide volunteers completed more than 1,600 tax returns for Gloucester County residents, yielding $1,727,570 in federal refunds.
Next tax season, we hope to complete even more returns, but we need more volunteers, both to prepare returns and to help run the seven sites we operate around the county.
The service is offered free of charge all over the United States by the AARP Foundation. It focuses on taxpayers 50 and older and those of low to moderate income. You don’t need experience or special knowledge — we train volunteer preparers to understand basic tax law and to use our tax preparation software. Other volunteers are needed to help operate the sites we operate in West Deptford, Mullica Hill, Deptford, Glassboro, Washington Township and Williamstown.
