Award Recipients

The Volunteer Leadership Award, United Way of Gloucester County's highest individual honor, recognizes long term volunteer service and leadership to the United Way of Gloucester County.  Created in 1984 by special action fo the Board of Directors, the award is presented each year at the Annual Meeting in the spring. For 2018, we are pleased to present the Volunteer Leadership Award to Warren Strumpfer.

Each year, the Spirit of United Way Award honors a select few volunteers that exemplify the depth of caring on our community.  This award is a tribute to those who demonstrate a special spirit, those who go above and beyond to meet the needs of our community.  The United Way of Gloucester County graciously acknowledges the lasting impact of their outstanding efforts. For 2018, our Spirit of United Way Award winners are Tara Levitt and Liz Shaffer.

The Community Impact Award is given to the Pascale Sykes Foundation for 2018, for their support of a select number of innovative, flexible, long-range programs that build stronger families by promoting the integrity, independence and well-being of low-income families. After transportation to and from workplaces was identified as a pressing issue for these families in southern New Jersey, funding from Pascale Sykes directly resulted in the Pureland East-West Community Shuttle, which greatly increased affordable transportation for these employees.

Each year hundreds of organizations, both large and small, make generous contributions to the United Way of Gloucester County.  We would like to thank each and every one of these organizations for their generous commitment to our community.  Employee Campaign Awards are awarded to organizations whose employees achieved at least 30% of their Fair Share Potential. Congratulations to all!
