The United Way of Gloucester County's Neighbor Helping Neighbor Campaign strategy will focus attention and resources of private sector workplace campaigns.
The Campaign Cabinet table of organization was revised to reflect the increased emphasis on existing corporate accounts and the need to develop relationships with additional area employers.
The three-step cultivation process is an effort to cultivate relationships with human resource personnel in companies currently not United Way corporate partners. New account cultivation will begin in January with a training and orientation program for new campaign cabinet members. New account cultivation will continue until the start of the campaign in September.
In February, contact with existing workplace campaign companies will begin, starting with those companies where previous campaign proceeds had decreased from the previous year. Cabinet members will be given contact information for approximately 30 under-performing workplace campaigns and requested to arrange for a meeting with management representatives to discuss ways in which campaign performance can be improved and obtain a commitment for greater support.
In May, contacts with performing companies will be initiated. Cabinet members will be given contact information for these campaigns and requested to make contact with management representatives to encourage their continued support to maintain campaign success.
The Gloucester County Public Employees Charitable Campaign, including county, municipal, law enforcement and education will again be managed separately. Current committees for county departments and school districts will be evaluated and revised as needed. Steering/advisory committees for municipalities and police departments will be developed.
Leadership giving will be coordinated by the de Tocqueville & Founders Society Committee. Strategies for the solicitation of professionals, corporate and small business support will be staff-driven, with the assistance of key volunteers. The Campaign Cabinet Chairperson will assist staff in developing an effective small business solicitation strategy utilizing the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce.
